Pre-existing Medical Conditions
Definition:
- a physical defect, medical condition or disease for which medical treatment or advice has been received during the six months prior to applying for State Travel Premier or State iTravel cover, or
- an ongoing medical condition or disability that exists when applying for State Travel Premier or State iTravel cover.
For anyone under 70 years of age, the following conditions are considered pre-existing medical conditions but are automatically covered under State Travel Premier and State iTravel policies. If your condition changes before departure, you will need to contact us and we will review the cover.
- Asthma - providing that you are less than 60 years of age, have no other lung disease, and there has been no exacerbation requiring treatment by a medical practitioner in the last 12 months.
- Hypertension/High Blood Pressure - provided you do not also suffer from a known Cardiovascular disease and / or diabetes.
- Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) - for menopausal symptoms only
- Ear Grommets - provided these were not inserted, and you were not prescribed antibiotics, during the 2 months prior to applying for this State Travel Insurance cover
- Cataracts - provided you have not had surgery during the 2 months prior to applying for this State Travel Insurance cover and are not on a waiting list for a specialist consultation or surgery
- Hay Fever - provided you have not seen a Doctor for hay fever during the 3 months prior to applying for this State Travel Insurance cover
- Hypercholesterolemia (high cholesterol) - provided you do not also suffer from a known Cardiovascular disease and / or diabetes
- GORD/Gastric Oesophageal Reflux Disease (indigestion) - provided this is controlled with regular prescribed medication
- Hypothyroidism, Goitre, Hashimoto's Disease, Thyroid deficiency - provided this is controlled with prescribed medication.
