State Roadside Rescue is an exclusive service available only to State Comprehensive car insurance policy holders.
State Roadside Rescue has more than 1,000 Roadside Rescue vehicles on-call, 24 hours a day, seven days a week to help you out when you need it.
So if your car breaks down, no matter what time of the day or night, or wherever you are, we can get a rescue car to you.
And it costs just $30 a year.
How it works
If you break down, just call 0800 10 11 12. It doesn’t matter who’s driving the car because State Roadside Rescue covers the vehicle, not the driver.
You get two free call-outs every insurance year. (That’s one year starting from the day you insure your car or your renewal date.)
And don’t worry if you use your two free call-outs for the year. You can still get help from State Roadside Rescue for just $50 per call out until the year rolls over.
How we can help
Got a flat tyre? We’ll fit the spare.
Locked out? We’ll get you in to your vehicle.
Run out of fuel? We’ll bring you five free litres of petrol or diesel.
Flat battery? We’ll jump-start your vehicle.
Broken down? If your vehicle has mechanical or electrical failure we’ll restart it, or tow it to the nearest approved repairer or a safe place.
What we can’t do
State Roadside Rescue is available anywhere, any time, but we can’t help out vehicles in the following situations:

require specialised salvage equipment to be recovered
aren’t within easy reach of a public road that a two-wheel drive vehicle can manage
can’t be accessed because of extreme conditions such as snow, ice, flooding or road slips
are used for racing, speed testing, reliability trials, competitions, off-road activity or for hire
need towing because of an accident or collision (if this happens contact our claims team on 0800 80 24 24)
need towing due to mis-use
are being towed (such as a boat, trailer or caravan).
