State Roadside Rescue

State Roadside Rescue

State Roadside Rescue is all about helping you get where you need to be.

State Roadside Rescue has access to more than 1,000 Roadside Rescue vehicles, 24 hours a day, seven days a week to help you get where you need to be.  Roadside Rescue is a service from State that will bring a rescue vehicle to your aid, no matter what time of the day or night. It’s an exclusive service. It’s only available to customers who have our Comprehensive Car insurance policy. And it costs just $30 a year.

You can rely on us

Wherever you are, if you break down, just call 0800 10 11 12 to get the help you need. Remember, it doesn’t matter who’s driving the car. State Roadside Rescue applies to the vehicle, not the driver.

How we can help

We’ll come to your rescue when you’ve:

  • got a flat tyre – we’ll fit your spare;
  • been locked out – we’ll gain access to your car;
  • run out of fuel – we’ll deliver five free litres of petrol or diesel;
  • got a flat battery – we’ll jump start your car;
  • broken down – we’ll restart your car or tow it to the nearest approved repairer or a   safe place if it fails to start altogether.

What we can’t do

In order to keep costs down and pass those savings on to our customers we cannot respond to vehicles that:

  • weigh more than 3,000kg (3 tonnes) kerb weight;
  • have been left unattended;
  • require repairs beyond emergency help or require specialised salvage equipment;
  • aren’t within easy reach of a public road on which a two-wheel drive vehicle can drive or can’t be accessed because of extreme conditions such as snow, ice, flooding or road slips;
  • are used for racing, speed testing, reliability trials, competitions, off-road activity or for hire or reward,
  • need towing because of an accident or collision. If this happens contact our claims team any time on 0800 80 24 24;
  • need towing due to misuse, or are being towed (e.g. a boat, trailer or caravan).

*With State Roadside Rescue you receive two free call outs every insurance year. That’s one year starting from the day you insure your car or your renewal date.

And don’t worry if you use your two free call outs for the year. You can still get help from State Roadside Rescue for just $50 per call out.
