The State Travel Insurance 30% Discount for Existing Customers Promotion (“Promotion”) is conducted by State (“State”), a business division of IAG New Zealand Limited (“IAG”), of NZI Centre, 1 Fanshawe Street, Auckland 1010. State Travel insurance is administered by Cover-More NZ Ltd, underwritten and issued by Zurich Australian Insurance Limited incorporated in Australia, ABN 13 000 296 640, trading as Zurich New Zealand (“ZAIL”). The following terms and conditions apply to the Promotion.
By participating in the Promotion, participants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
The Promotion is open to existing State insurance customers who have any active personal or business insurance policy.
The Promotion commences on 11 March 2026 and will end at 11.59pm on 22 September 2026 NZT (“Promotion Period”), after which the existing customer discount will revert back to a 10% discount.
State is offering eligible participants that meet the criteria set out in these terms and conditions, a 30% discount on the premium for each new Travel Insurance policy taken out (“Promotional Discount”) and is based on the standard premium rates (including optional extras). The discount is applied to the total premium paid, inclusive of any add-on or variations to cover made and is applied before taxes.
To be eligible for a Promotional Discount:
a) Participants must be existing State insurance customers who have any active personal or business insurance policy during the Promotional Period;
b) Participants must have obtained a new quote and purchased the State Travel Insurance policy (International Single Trip, Domestic Single Trip, or Annual Multi-trip, Inbound) either online or over the phone, within the Promotion Period (“Qualifying Policy”). For the avoidance of doubt:
(i) The Promotional Discount applies to any changes, upgrades or amendments made to the Qualifying Policy.
(ii) If a participant takes out multiple Qualifying Policies, each Qualifying Policy will be eligible for a Promotional Discount; and
c) Participants must have paid for the Qualifying Policy in full by the due date, prior to 22 September 2026.
d) Participants must input the Promotional Code STATECUST30 in the Promo Code box to automatically receive the Promotional Discount online or mention the Promotional Code STATECUST30 if buying the Qualifying Policy over the phone.
e) For the avoidance of doubt, State will not be obliged to offer any Promotional Discount to any person until the eligibility terms and conditions have been met, including receipt of payment of the Qualifying Policy’s premium.
State will not be required to provide any person with a Promotional Discount where, in State’s sole discretion:
a) That person is not (or is no longer) eligible; or
b) The STATECUST30 promotional code is not used by the participant at the time of purchasing the Qualifying Policy.
The Promotional Discount is not transferable, refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
The Promotional Discount is not combinable with any other promotional offer.
The Promotion is not an offer of insurance and availability of insurance cover is subject to State approval, including meeting all underwriting criteria. State insurance policy terms and conditions apply, please see state.co.nz/travel-insurance.
State, at its sole discretion, reserves the right to discontinue, extend or amend the Promotion at any time. State will only do this where it considers it is reasonable to do so.
State’s decision on any matter regarding the Promotion will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Subject to any obligation under law, such as the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986, State and its related bodies corporate will not be liable for any loss, damage or injury suffered or sustained (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss or loss arising from negligence) arising directly or indirectly out of or in connection with the Promotion or any Reward.
State takes no responsibility for any human error, technical malfunctions, lost or delayed data transmission, computer or network failure, or any other interruption that may affect the conduct of the Promotion.
Each participant accepts and agrees that State may use and disclose the participant’s personal information to State’s agents or contractors for the purposes of conducting the Promotion and for marketing and promotional purposes. Participants have the right to access and correct their personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 by contacting State in writing at 1 Fanshawe Street, Auckland or by calling 0800 80 24 24.
